How much food do I need on race day?
In general, the recommendations for fueling during exercise are:
Less than 45 minutes: no need for fuel. A pre-race snack is sufficient.
1 to 2 hours: 30g/hour or 120 calories/hour
2 to 3 hours: 60g/hour or 240 calories/hour
3+ hours: 90g/hour or 360 calories/hour
How much protein do I need each day?
The following are in grams per/lb of body weight.
Normal Adult: 0.4g
Endurance Athletes: 0.5-0.6g
Strength Athletes: 0.6-0.9g
